Sunflowers Care is a respite home based in Cambridgeshire, here is what the guys at Sunflowers Care have to say about the foundation….
We were lucky enough to have known Liam Fairhurst. He was such an inspiring and kind young man whose selflessness was unique…….or so we thought until Callum Fairhurst approached us, seeing if The Liam Fairhurst Foundation could help Sunflowers in any way. We have opened a small home from home, called Sunflowers for children with complex medical and nursing care needs. When we had just opened we really wanted to build a sensory room for children to enjoy. Many of the children that we look after benefit from a warm, comfortable, stimulating and exciting place to be. The Liam Fairhurst Foundation funded our sensory room. We created Liam’s Room which is a haven for the children here. Without this kind donation, we would not have this brilliant facility. (See above pictures) But that is not all! Our project this year has been to transform our garden are from an unexciting plot to an incredible sensory space. This project has been supported by charities including the Liam Fairhurst Foundation. The space is fully wheelchair accessible and has a willow pod where children can escape from the grown ups! We think Liam would have approved ☺The foundation have also supported in helping us fundraise towards a mini bus, helping our children have greater accessibility to days out. From all the children, parents, carers, nurses and supporters of Sunflowers Care – Thank you xxxxx
