The Liam Fairhurst Foundation, Star Radio and Purple Skips have teamed up to launch our first ever Christmas Toy Appeal. We’re asking residents and businesses across the region to get involved by donating toys which will then be distributed across Cambridgeshire to sick, disabled or disadvantaged children and their siblings in time for Christmas.
James Woodward, Managing Director of Star Radio said: “From Wednesday 26th November we will be broadcasting details of the Toy Appeal every day on Star. We know how generous our listeners are and we hope that, as well as donating toys themselves, they’ll help us to spread the word and encourage friends and family to also buy an extra toy to give to the Appeal.”
If you want to help out you can leave your presents at one of the designated drop off points:
- Asda Beehive Centre, Cambridge
- Toys ‘R’ Us Beehive Centre, Cambridge
- Tesco Newmarket Road, Cambridge
- Tesco Milton
- Tesco Newmarket
- Moons Toy Store Newmarket
- Tesco Ely
All you have to do is drop off a new toy in one of the special shopping trollies at a collection point before 19th December. The toys should be left unwrapped and will then be collected and delivered to hospitals, children’s centres and hospices around Cambridgeshire on Monday 22nd December. We’d also love to see business in the area involved, asking staff to donate toys and take part in a secret santa for the children.
If you want to get involved, or have any questions, let us know!
